On the one hand, these are directly requested of our customers. On the other hand, they serve our engineers to design and optimize measures for noise reduction and control.<\/p>\n<p>The essential acoustic properties include e. g.:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <a style=\"color: #0693e3;\" title=\"Sound power\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/leistungen\/maschinenakustik\/larmminderung\/messung-schallleistung\/\">sound power<\/a> of machines and devices,<\/li>\n<li>the <a style=\"color: #0693e3;\" title=\"Sound absorption coefficient and sound insulation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/know-how\/prufverfahren-nach-norm\/schallabsorption-schalldammung\/\">sound absorption coefficient<\/a> and the <a title=\"Airflow resistance and porosity\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/know-how\/prufverfahren-nach-norm\/stromungswiderstand-porositat\/\">airflow resistance<\/a> of sound absorbers and other open-cell materials,<\/li>\n<li>the <a style=\"color: #0693e3;\" title=\"Acoustic design with respect to building acoustics\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/leistungen\/bau-und-raumakustik\/bauakustik\/bauakustische-auslegung-schallschutz\/\">airborne sound insulation<\/a> of separating constructional elements,<\/li>\n<li>the insertion loss of <a style=\"color: #0693e3;\" title=\"Acoustic design of noise barrier\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/leistungen\/umweltakustik\/strassenlarm\/larmschutzwand-schallschirm\/\">noise barriers<\/a> and <a style=\"color: #0693e3;\" title=\"Acosutic design of enclosures\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/leistungen\/maschinenakustik\/larmminderung\/auslegung-von-schallschutzkapseln\/\">enclosures<\/a> as well as<\/li>\n<li>the transmission loss and the insertion loss of <a style=\"color: #0693e3;\" title=\"Acoustic design of mufflers and silencers\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/leistungen\/maschinenakustik\/larmminderung\/auslegung-von-schalldampfer\/\">mufflers and silencers<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Relevant vibrational parameters represent e. g.:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <a style=\"color: #0693e3;\" title=\"Modal analysis\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/leistungen\/maschinenakustik\/strukturanalyse\/modalanalyse\/\">natural frequencies<\/a> of machines and constructional elements,<\/li>\n<li>the <a style=\"color: #0693e3;\" title=\"Elastic modulus and loss factor\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/know-how\/prufverfahren-nach-norm\/e-modul-g-modul-verlustfaktor\/\">bending loss factor<\/a> of coatings applied for damping structure-borne sound as well as<\/li>\n<li>the <a style=\"color: #0693e3;\" title=\"Elastic modulus and loss factor\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/know-how\/prufverfahren-nach-norm\/e-modul-g-modul-verlustfaktor\/\">structure-borne sound isolation<\/a> of vibration isolators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thermal quantities that are regularly asked for are e. g.:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the specific heat capacity of isolating materials in combination with<\/li>\n<li>the gross density (geometrical density) and the true density (density of sceleton) as well as<\/li>\n<li>the thermal conductivity of separating constructional elements and isolating materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To perform the measurements, besides the required measurement equipment (sensors for airborne and structure-borne sound, multi-channel data acquisition, acoustic measuring devices) and associated analysis software, a wide range of laboratory test benches and special acoustic measurement rooms and test environments are available.
