{"id":12245,"date":"2025-02-20T14:50:03","date_gmt":"2025-02-20T13:50:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/?p=12245"},"modified":"2025-09-15T17:05:58","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T15:05:58","slug":"absorptionsschalldaempfer-software","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/en\/produkte\/software\/absorptionsschalldaempfer-software\/","title":{"rendered":"Absorption Muffler software<br>AcoustiCalc<sup>&reg;&nbsp;Silencer light<\/sup>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/absorptionsschalldaempfersoftware_acousticalc_silencer_light_01.png\" rel=\"gallery\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-12247 size-full\" style=\"margin-top: -20px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.akustikforschung.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/absorptionsschalldaempfersoftware_acousticalc_silencer_light_01.png\" alt=\"Absorption muffler software AcoustiCalc&amp;reg; Silencer light for acoustic design of mufflers\" width=\"440\" height=\"487\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The absorption muffler software AcoustiCalc<sup>\u00ae Silencer light<\/sup> can be used for the <strong>quick<\/strong> and <strong>simple<\/strong> acoustic design of circular, absorbent-lined ducts (pipe silencers) and rectangular silencers with parallel sound-absorbing baffles (baffle silencers).<\/p>\n<p>On the basis of the well established four-pole theory, the transmission loss of selected mufflers for arbitrary <strong>geometry parameters<\/strong>, <strong>material porperties<\/strong> and <strong>service conditions<\/strong> can be calculated and optimized to comply with specified limit values.<\/p>\n<p><!--contentpartdivider--><\/p>\n<h4>Working principle of absorption muffler software<\/h4>\n<p>The acoustic performance of silencers depends on<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the fluid properties (in particular the speed of sound and the density of the fluid depending on the application\/operating conditions of the muffler),<\/li>\n<li>the geometry of the muffler,<\/li>\n<li>the acoustic properties of the absorber material used in conjunction with perforated covers and<\/li>\n<li>the frequency-dependent sound power of the noise source to be reduced.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Within the software, parameterized silencer elements enable the quick and simple variation of all influencing factors in order to adapt absorption mufflers as best as possible to the noise source to be reduced.<\/p>\n<h4>Computation results<\/h4>\n<p>The following results are calculated by the absorption silencer software:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>spectral transmission loss and total sound power level difference (Z-, A- and C-weighted) between inlet and outlet of the muffler based on complex silencer models from relevant technical literature<\/li>\n<li>spectral sound power level and total sound power level (Z-, A- and C-weighted) at the silencer outlet<\/li>\n<li>maximum flow velocity inside the silencer<\/li>\n<li>estimation of the pressure loss of the silencer and the flow-induced total sound power level inside the silencer based on analytical descriptions from relevant technical literature<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Graphical user interface<\/h4>\n<p>The graphical user interface (GUI) of the absorption muffler software is designed as a single-page application, which offers a very intuitive user experience due to its clear structure. All relevant GUI components are very quickly accessible to support a fast and effective workflow.<\/p>\n<p>All spectral data is presented in both tabular and graphical form to ensure quick and easy understanding. The export\/import functions are also very flexible and allow effortless further processing of the results (e.g. in reports or construction manuals).<\/p>\n<h4>Muffler elements<\/h4>\n<p>The absorption silencer software enables the acoustic design of sound-absorbing lined ducts (pipe silencers) and rectangular silencers with parallel sound-absorbing baffles (parallel baffle silencers).<\/p>\n<p>For better ergonomics, it is even possible to predefine sub-elements \u2013 such as absorber materials, perforated covers and liquid \u2013 through individual configuration files.<\/p>\n<p>The following figure shows exemplary parameterized geometries of parallel baffle silencers and pipe silencers.<\/p>\n<p><a
