description of the sound field above impedance surfaces (grounds, road surfaces etc.) in the surrounding area of obstacles (sound-reflecting, absorbing and\/or diffuse reflecting screens, walls etc.) requires the consideration of different effects of sound propagation.<\/p>\n<p>The modeling of the emitting sound source to be examined (location, source strength, directional characteristic) is important as well.<\/p>\n<p><!--contentpartdivider--><\/p>\n<h4>Effects of Sound Propagation<\/h4>\n<p>The sound propagation model applied by the Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Akustikforschung Dresden mbH consideres among others the following effects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>air absorption\n<ul>\n<li>modeling according to ISO\u00a09613-1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>ground-borne reflection\n<ul>\n<li>consideration of reflexion of spherical waves according to Weyl van der Pol<\/li>\n<li>modeling of sound propagation above impedance surfaces with discontinuities by modification of &#8220;Fresnel-zone model&#8221; of Hothersall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>sound diffraction wedge-shaped obstacles with absorbing surfaces\n<ul>\n<li>e.g. screen, noise protection wall, tunnel mouth<\/li>\n<li>modeling according to Hadden and Pierce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>diffuse sound reflection at structured surfaces\n<ul>\n<li>modeling according to Nord 2000)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>sound reflection at the top edge of obstacles\n<ul>\n<li>modification of &#8220;Fresnel-zone model&#8221; of Hothersall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>incoherence\n<ul>\n<li>by sound diffraction caused by wind and temperature profiles as well as by atmospheric turbulence<\/li>\n<li>modeling according to SonRoad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Modeling of Sound Source<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>sound power and directional characteristic of sound source\n<ul>\n<li>determination e.g. by application of a
